How to Choose the Right PowerCon Connector
1. Confirm 16A or 20A Current Requirement
The connector rating should match the equipment load and power distribution design. Verchil PowerCon products cover 16A and 20A connector options for different stage lighting, LED display and equipment power systems.
2. Select Cable Connector or Chassis Connector
Cable connectors are used at the cable end, while chassis connectors are mounted on equipment panels, power distribution boxes and control enclosures. The two sides should be selected as a matched power input/output system.
3. Identify Power Input and Power Output
For standard PowerCon systems, blue is used for power input and grey is used for power output. The keyed structure helps reduce incorrect mating and improves power wiring safety.
4. Use TRUE1 for Outdoor or Live-Disconnect Applications
PowerCon TRUE1 is suitable for applications requiring outdoor protection or connection/disconnection under load. Standard blue/grey PowerCon should not be disconnected under load.
5. Check Cable Diameter and Wire Size
The cable outer diameter and conductor size should match the connector specification. Correct cable matching helps maintain cable retention, terminal stability and sealing performance.

PowerCon Connector FAQ
What is the difference between blue and gray PowerCon?
According to industry standards, blue is used for power input(Power IN) and grey is used for power output(Power OUT).
The two structures are different and cannot be mixed to prevent short circuit and misoperation.
What is the rated current and voltage?
Our PowerCon connectors are typically rated at 16A20A/250V AC, fully meeting the power supply requirements of most stage lighting and sound equipment.
Does this plug have a lock?
With a lock. It uses a reliable rotary locking system(Twist Lock), which can be locked by rotation after insertion to prevent the power supply from falling off due to vibration during the performance.
Can it be plugged?
Please note that the standard PowerCon blue or gray does not have the ability to interrupt the current, please do not carry out hot swap with load.
If it is True1 series, it supports hot swap.
Does the cable wiring need to be welded?
No need. The screw pressing line design is adopted in the interior, and you only need a screwdriver to complete the wiring, which is very suitable for rapid assembly on site.
